World Series of Poker WSOP Event 4 $1,000 No Limit Holdem
Steve Sung has been successful in seeing off 6,011 entries and one of the biggest fields in World Series of Poker (WSOP) history, all the way to his first WSOP bracelet. At the start of the final table he was second in chips but a bad early couple of hours saw him drop down to one of the short stacks. He managed to recover and witin one hour become the chip leader, taking a couple of big pots from Dan Heimiller before squeezing everyone else out of contention. It's Sung's first bracelet, but after watching this final table, you're left with a feeling that it might not be his last.
James Matz III Eliminated in 3rd ($313,826)
James Matz limps in the small blind, Sung raises for 400,000 more, Matz makes the call. The flop is [Qh] [5d] [Ts] Matzs bets 475,000 with Sung raising to 1.1 million chips. With little hesitation Matz moves all in. As the cards are flipped Matzs is ahead with [5c] [4c] against Sung's [Kh] [Js]. The turn is the [8s]. Matz needs to avoid aces, kings, jacks and nines to stay in the tournament. The river is a [Ac] Sung's takes the pot and Matz III is out in third place.
Panayote Vilandos Eliminated In 2nd Place ($473,283)
Steve Sung raises to 500,000 and Panayote Vilandos reraises an additional 1,700,000, Sung goes all-in and Vilandos calls! Sung holds [Ks] [Kh], Vilandos has [8s] [8c], the flop is [Ah] [7d] [2h] no help for Vilandos he needs an eight to keep his tournament hopes alive. The turn is the [6d], the river is the [7c]. Sung had Vilandos easily covered and officially wins the tournament with the largest ever field outside the WSOP Main Event.

After almost 15 hours of play, the final table of the World Series of Poker, which began at noon PST on Saturday, has finally come to a pause with Joe Cada and Darvin Moon surviving the marathon battle. These two players will start heads-up play at 10:00 p.m. PST tonight with Cada holding a 77 Million chip lead.

After long baited breaths the 2009 WSOP Schedule has been released!
It took much longer than normal for the 2009 World Series of Poker Schedule to come out, but ESPN have just released the full line up. It appears that the final table delay will become a permanent fixture with the main event set to start on July 3rd and finishes on November 10th.

After 11 days of gruelling poker play which started on the 3rd July. It was at around 3:30 Tuesday morning when the 10th placed player Dean Hamrick was eliminated and then we have our November Nine when the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event resumes on the 9th November 2008.
The remaining nine players will now have to wait until November 9 to return to the Rio in Las Vegas to continue chasing down a share of the $32,000,000 prize money and the World Championship with a first place prize of $9.1 million.

Harrah's Entertainment has released the official schedule of events for the 39th World Series of Poker Presented by Milwaukee's Best Light. The WSOP will again take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
The 2008 WSOP will run from May 30 – July 16, 2008. As with the 2007 schedule 55 different events will be on offer for all poker players.
